multidisciplinary artist currently based in Austin, Texas. Inspired by the natural places that have shaped her journey, from growing up on the sound to later moving to Texas and finding inspiration in the vast, open landscapes of the Far West, PATIO explores paint and raw canvas to mirror her personal process and the world around her. With a background in art therapy and interior design, PATIO works with mixed media to explore the interplay of color and organic shapes on raw canvas. Her approach grew from graduate studies in process painting, a practice that values change and vulnerability. Each canvas evolves over time as colorfield paintings merge into a unified whole, reflecting the belief of art as a daily practice of life. WHY PATIO? PATIO represents the core of the artist’s identity. It’s more than just a name, it’s a space. A space where simplicity, light, texture, and color come together to spark connection. Much like a patio invites gathering and conversation, PATIO’s work is an invitation to slow down and engage with the moment. The name embodies the openness and clarity reflected in each piece. While PATIO represents the studio and creative vision, behind it is Sarah, an artist who values the personal connections and stories that emerge through art. PATIO symbolizes more than just a creative practice; it serves as a unifying identity while remaining true to an intuitive process.
